Backend Engineer

What are you expected to do? ● Work as part of a team developing applications and services using Agile development methods ● Build microservices by writing reusable, testable, and efficient code ● Effectively use tools and ingenuity to identify and fix defects before they become a problem ● Develop and implement application architecture that is modular and scalable after understanding the business and design requirements ● Help come up with estimates for project and individual tasks ● Help the team in solving technical challenges ● Have a good understanding on how applications will be deployed, managed and operated in the production environment ● Make sure coding standards are followed through detailed code reviews ● Make sure that the code is well commented and documented along with any TODOs on technical debt and shortcuts that need to be addressed later What are we looking for? ● Minimum 1 year of experience in software development with in-depth knowledge of Golang, Java, or any other language that supports multithreading ● Excellent knowledge of MongoDB ● Ability to create database schemas that represent and support business processes ● Strong analytical skills and problem-solving aptitude ● Ability to take project and product ownership for successful delivery within the decided budgets and timelines ● Should understand fundamental design patterns and principles behind a scalable and secure application ● Should have strong communication, decision-making, and leadership skills ● Knowledge of frontend technologies like React and Redux will be an added plus ● Experience with user authentication and authorization between multiple systems, servers, and environments will be an added plus ● Experience with automated testing platforms and unit tests will be an added plus ● Prior experience in a fast-moving startup environment would be great
