The Role
As our Community Manager, you'll be the bridge between bookberry.club and the vibrant reading communities across Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore. Your mission is to discover book clubs and communities, understand their unique needs, and help them experience how bookberry.club can enrich their reading journey.
This isn't a traditional sales role — it's about building genuine relationships with readers and reading communities, sharing your passion for books, and growing a movement of intentional reading in the chaos of modern life.
What You’ll Do
Community Outreach & Relationship Building (35%)
• Discover & Map: Identify and visit book clubs across your assigned city
(Mumbai/Delhi/Bangalore) — from formal library groups to informal café circles, corporate clubs to friends' reading groups.
• Build Relationships: Attend club meetings, engage with members, understand their
reading culture and challenges.
• Be Present: Show up authentically as a fellow reader, not just a platform representative
• Monthly Target: Visit minimum 10 clubs per month across your territory
Platform Advocacy & Onboarding (35%)
• Demo & Guide: Present bookberry.club features in simple, engaging ways tailored to each club's needs
• Onboard Communities: Help clubs and their members get started on the platform
• Train & Support: Conduct mini-workshops or walkthroughs on using key features (tracking, rewards, communities)
• Follow-up: Stay connected with onboarded clubs to ensure engagement and address
concerns
Events & Community Programming (15%)
• Events: Organize 2-3 community events per month (book club meetups, author sessions, reading challenges, bookstore partnerships).
• Regional Calendar: Maintain and update the events calendar for your city & your region on bookberry platform. Keep the community informed about reading-related happenings.
Content Curation (10%)
• Weekly Book News: Curate 10 book-related news items weekly: - New releases (India focus with international highlights), Author events and updates, Literary awards and publishing news and Submit via designated format each week
• Recommendation Lists: Build and maintain themed reading lists: Create 3 new lists per month (e.g., "Best Mumbai Reads," "Hidden Gem Authors," "Monsoon Reading"), Update existing lists quarterly based on reader feedback and Research by talking to readers and visiting bookstores
Insights & Feedback Loop (10%)
• Listen Deeply: Gather feedback on what works, what doesn't, and what clubs truly need
• Report Regularly: Share insights with founders on club dynamics, user needs, and market trends
• Track Metrics: Monitor number of clubs onboarded, active users acquired, and engagement rates
• Iterate: Help shape how we serve reading communities better
Success Metrics
You'll be evaluated on:
• Number of clubs onboarded (active partnerships established)
• Active users acquired from club outreach efforts
• Engagement rates of onboarded clubs and members
• Quality of relationships built (qualitative feedback from clubs) bookberry.club

• Local Mobility: Comfortable traveling across Mumbai/Delhi/Bangalore independently
• Self Driven: Should be able to independently come up with plan and then execute it.

• Experience in community management, sales, or customer-facing roles

• Interest in startups and building something from the ground up
• Regional language proficiency (Hindi, Marathi, or others)
What We Offer
Compensation
• Base Salary: ₹20,000/month
• Travel Allowance: ₹5,000/month for local commute
• Total Monthly: ₹25,000

Work Schedule
• Working Days: Tuesday to Sunday (Monday off + 1 flexible weekday off)
• Field Work: 10 club visits per month (approx. 2-3 visits per week)
• Evening/Weekend Availability: Required, as most clubs meet during these times
• Planning Time: Dedicate time for research, follow-ups, and reporting from home/wherever you work best
• Flexibility: Manage your own schedule around club meeting times and community needs
